Bronies, or Brony, is the fandom name for people who enjoy the 2010 show, “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”. However, it can be used as more of a negative term: fully grown adult men who love the show, yes, but who are weird about it- from the Rainbow Dash jar to pony porn, to name a few, are no strangers to the bad brony side. We will mostly discuss those weird bronies here.
Bronies started in 2010-when grown men gained a sudden interest in the MLP FIM show after swearing they didn’t like it.
Brony incidents
Here’s an event you guys might know from memes: in 2014, a 4chan (not surprisingly) user had a mission: place a Rainbow Dash toy in a jar, and fill it up with many bodily fluids- including human semen. I’ll spare your eyes from that, but the original image is very easy to find online- and it’s absolutely disgusting. He placed his jar too close to a radiator, boiling the pony with his fluids. The reason for this was “Sheer curiosity and scientific research”, sure buddy…
Here’s another one, that is way worse than the Rainbow Dash Jar; a FedEx employee under the name of Brandon Scott Hole who shot up a FedEx warehouse over Applejack. In his suicide note, before the shooting, he claims that “I hope that I can be with Applejack in the afterlife, my life has no meaning without her”. This happened pretty recently, in 2021- eight people were shot and killed, and Hole took his life shortly after.
My little Horror
You’re probably familiar with mlp creepypastas; including but not limited to Smile HD, a 2013 animation by Dave Davey where Pinkie Pie brutally kills her friends with the happy song “smile” in the background, or Cupcakes, by Dave Davey again, which has Pinkie pie killing off Rainbow Dash to make cupcakes out of her, all while wearing a costume of the Main 6’s flesh. There is also fanfics, also known as “grimdark”, that I used to love listening to people reading them out loud when I was much younger. Ones that I’m familiar with are “The Rainbow Factory”, a story by AuroraDawn, which features Rainbow Dash creating rainbows using the “pegasus device” by crushing pegasi that aren’t efficient enough, turning them into rainbows. Other horror stories include “An Apple sleep experiment”, “Little Miss Rarity”, “The friendship test”, “Dear Princess Celestia” and much more.
