January 1st, 1983 wasn’t just the beginning of the new year. It was a turning point in history. You guessed by the title, the Birth of the Internet. Computers existed prior, but it wasn’t possible for other networks to communicate with one another. This was called the Transfer Control Protocol/Internetwork Protocol. In the 60s the internet was used as a way to share information between government researchers.
Now if we fastforward, to 1998, two men by the names of Sergey Brin and Larry Page came up with the search engine, Google.
